against hope, believe in hope

When my heart hurts really really really REALLY bad.... like right now...I can lay aside my feeble thoughts, give them to God and trust His dream for my life.

I can usually find my "spot" in God's word... A place that someone lived long before I have...

Abraham, against hope, believed in hope.

"Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be."- KJV

Or...

"Who without reason for hope, in faith went on hoping, so that he became the father of a number of nations, as it had been said, So will your seed be..."

My Kindermusik Plug!

Spread the Word. I am working feverishly on completing my Kindermusik training... I should be open for business by the first part of February!

What is Kindermusik?
Simply put, Kindermusik is a music and movement program for newborns to 7 year olds. Each week in class you’ll play, listen, and dance to music that will impact you and your child in profound ways. That’s because every song, story, and two-step has a carefully chosen purpose in this creative curriculum—one that’s designed to stimulate and strengthen the vital neural wiring taking place in your child’s mind, right now. A Kindermusik educator will guide you every step of the way so you know how each activity contributes to your child’s overall growth and development.

The latest research with proven methods—that’s Kindermusik, too. The child-centered curricula incorporate ongoing, in-classroom studies with our own, 30-years’ experience in music and child development. Plus, they’ve combined the best music learning methods found in Orff, Kodaly, and Suzuki.

“Take-home” books, instruments and CDs from class let you take learning with you wherever you go. All while strengthening the emotional bond between you and your child.

So whether it’s twirling under a sea of scarves, experimenting with age-appropriate instruments, singing about a scampering squirrel, creating a musical ensemble, or snuggling in your lap during story time, Kindermusik speaks your child’s language and offers them (and you!) the best music and movement class available.

Knowing this: That the trying of my faith worketh PATIENCE.

OH! It does? Really? Because I wasn't totally for sure on that one....

Some Recent Reads......

Romantic Love, Dr. James Dobson
Very quick read. Developing realistic expectations during your single years, and keeping a right view after you are married. As, always Dr. Dobson's advice is applicable and solid.

I just finished Margaret Feinberg’s Organic God. An easy read; it wasn’t terribly deep or theological, but had some good points. She talked of an "Organic" relationship with the Lord, free of expectations and preconceived notions, no additives, no preservatives.

Leadership and Self-deception is a book I recently completed. A helpful read that teaches leaders how to properly view others. I would encourage you all to read this one as well, especially young leaders. _ Russ Crips

cold, cold, wet day

Calling for help.

As it seems to me, hurt has been very close to follow me this year. And it seems to intensify as the year progresses. Today I find my comfort in knowing that in spite of hurting worse than I ever have, I have done the right thing.

God has a plan. I do NOT get it, but He still has one. I am learning to trust. Which is so hard. But I am still going to do it. It's all i've got.

"And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered" (Joel 2:32).

Why do not I call on His name? Why do I run to this neighbor and that when God is so near and will hear my faintest call? Why do I sit down and devise schemes and invent plans? Why not at once roll myself and my burden upon the Lord?

Straightforward is the best runner--why do not I run at once to the living God? In vain shall I look for "deliverance anywhere else; but with God I shall find it; for here I have His royal shall to make it sure.

I need not ask whether I may call on Him or not, for that word "Whosoever" is a very wide and comprehensive one. Whosoever means me, for it means anybody and everybody who calls upon God. I will therefore follow the leading of the text, and at once call upon the glorious Lord who has made so large a promise.

My case is urgent, and I do not see how I am to be delivered; but this is no business of mine. He who makes the promise will find ways and means of keeping it. It is mine to obey His commands; it is not mine to direct His counsels. I am His servant, not His solicitor. I call upon Him, and He will deliver. --C. H. Spurgeon
